My friend Kayla asked me to contribute my voice reading a poem for her collaboration 'Glaciers and Dust'. Kayla Painter's contribution to the global cultural collaboration between the UK and China ‘Distant Dialogues’. Supported by Worldwide FM, British Council, Merrie Records and Xintiandi.

Kayla’s track is part of a compilation alongside artists Gooooose, Hector Plimmer, Shii, Wonky Logic, and Sheng Jie. This project celebrates positive relationships internationally as well as the creative voice of the selected British and Chinese artists.

It was a spoken word recording that Kayla then combined, cut up, distilled and wove into a magical track she produced for this collaboration and it was a pleasure to be involved. Please check it out at her bandcamp.

Kayla also produced a fantastic remix of Hysterical Injury’s Mother Rain back in 2018.
