‘Olanza’ by Olanza out now on Human Worth Records

If you follow me on social media you will know that I am one third of Bristol based, instrumental post-rock band Olanza. This band is where I get to write and play bass riffs loudly with my good pals friends Aron Ward on guitar and Shaun Sepr on drums.

Last year we went to residential studio Giant Wafer in Llandrindod Wells, Wales with Bear Bites Horse studio producer Wayne Adams (Big Lad, Pet Brick) to record this record.

The official release date was Friday 13th May out on Human Worth, but I haven’t been able to celebrate or share the news because in strange twist of fate my Dad, Ricky Gardiner, passed away that very day after a really long and awful battle with Parkinson’s PSP.

It is out now on Human Worth Records on a beautiful transparent vinyl record with a 300 plus strong photo composite made by Shaun Sepr for the cover. Human Worth are a strong charitable UK DIY label where a percentage of the sales go towards a charity chosen by the band. In our case we chose Partnership with Native Americans and Disaster Emergency Committee’s Ukraine Humanitarian Appeal. If you’re into Polvo, Harvey Milk or Lungfish, you’d love this record (and I am super proud of it). (posted July 2022)
